Spirituality at Ruswarp
What is spirituality?
Spirituality is not something we can see; it is something we feel inside ourselves. It is about awe and wonder, asking questions, inspiration and being aware of something ‘bigger’ outside of ourselves.
It is also about being curious, having open minds and being thankful for what is good in life.
It is about self-belief (believing in our potential to achieve), creativity and forgiveness.
We understand that spirituality is not just about ourselves, but appreciating others.
We value moments of calm and quiet when we can appreciate and develop our spiritual selves.
How do we develop spirituality?
At Ruswarp, spirituality is a space for nurturing compassion, understanding, and personal growth. We encourage all children to explore their inner selves confidently while respecting the beliefs of others. Our vision — “Think for Yourself and Act for Others” — inspires children to be thoughtful individuals who value kindness and collaboration.
Guided by the message “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Luke 10, v27), we foster a culture of mutual respect and forgiveness, helping children to appreciate diverse perspectives and to support one another. We aim to create a safe, inclusive environment where achievements are celebrated.
We also recognise that some children may face barriers to ther spiritual development and we are committed to identifying these challenges and implementing strategies to ensure every child can engage and thrive in their spiritual journey.
